The guns feel good, the multiplayer is lively, and the Geneva Convention violations are rendered in eye-popping 4K HDR. But players still have a few complaints: not least of which is the game&#8217;s weird, almost <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/ModernWarfareII\/comments\/yglvi6\/the_ui_isnt_just_badugly_its_literally\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">iPad-like UI design for its menus<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, players in MW2 have gotten so tired of navigating the game&#8217;s various interfaces that they&#8217;ve started feverishly imagining new ones. Players are taking on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/ModernWarfareII\/comments\/yjvnx7\/ui_design_for_the_camo_menu_by_me\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the camo menu<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/ModernWarfareII\/comments\/yjgiyx\/hey_iw_i_fixed_create_a_class_ui_for_you\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">create a class UI<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/ModernWarfareII\/comments\/yf5fnt\/didnt_like_the_main_menu_ui_so_i_made_a_quick\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the main menu<\/a>. But my favourite\u2014originally spotted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamesradar.com\/modern-warfare-2s-ui-is-so-bad-players-are-fixing-it-themselves\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GamesRadar<\/a>\u2014is this one <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/ModernWarfareII\/comments\/yjgg63\/this_is_what_i_wish_the_ui_would_look_like_made\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">from Reddit user InterventX<\/a>. Like da Vinci at his drawing board, InterventX has imagineered an alternative UI for MW2 that trades out the labyrinth of big, touchscreen-esque buttons for a sleek, efficient, and parseable menu system.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/ModernWarfareII\/comments\/yjgg63\/this_is_what_i_wish_the_ui_would_look_like_made\">this_is_what_i_wish_the_ui_would_look_like_made<\/a> from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/ModernWarfareII\">r\/ModernWarfareII<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The concept chucks out MW2&#8217;s current motley of variants for a cut-down and readable set of options. In place of the cascading system of filters and Netflix-style carousels, you just have familiar and simple options that even the COD-averse could easily grasp.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s so immensely preferable to the current UI\u2014and so remarkably similar to the UI already present in COD: Warzone\u2014that it&#8217;s a real mystery as to why Infinity Ward took such a hard left-turn with the real UI design in MW2. Perhaps the studio will respond to the outcry that MW2&#8217;s UI has generated and tidy things up a little.<\/p>\n<p>MW2 has been making big waves since it released a little under a week ago.
