From SNES-era titles like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/snes\/shadowrun\">Shadowrun<\/a> and Hideo Kojima\u2019s wildly underappreciated <strong>Snatcher<\/strong> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.timeextension.com\/games\/saturn\/policenauts\">Policenauts<\/a>; to the present where we find games like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch\/astral_chain\">Astral Chain<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/switch-eshop\/va-11_hall-a_cyberpunk_bartender_action\">VA-11 HALL-A<\/a>, and \u2014 yes \u2014 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pushsquare.com\/games\/ps5\/cyberpunk_2077\">Cyberpunk 2077<\/a>. In fact, it&#8217;s so common in games that it becomes harder and harder to be wow-ed by the aesthetic. Despite this, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/switch-eshop\/anno_mutationem\">ANNO: Mutationem<\/a> pulled us in right away.<\/p>\n<p>ANNO (no relation to the popular city building simulator of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/wii\/anno_create_a_new_world\">the same name<\/a>) is an action-RPG that comes courtesy of indie developer ThinkingStars in conjunction with Sony\u2019s China Hero Project.
