It\u2019s a side-adventure that takes the game\u2019s cooperative rat-bashing and turns it into a roguelike affair, with randomly generated levels, multiple ways to progress, and its own upgrade system based around purchasing abilities and equipment with coins dropped by enemies.<\/p>\n<p>Each run is also overseen by one of the four Chaos gods (Khorne, Nurgle, Tzeentch and Slaanesh) who bring dangerous modifiers into the world, such as exploding enemies or environmental hazards that drain your life. The Be\u2019lakor update essentially adds Warhammer\u2019s demon prince as another malign overseer of the fun.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Announced at yesterday&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/uk\/warhammer-skulls-2022-start-time\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Warhammer Skulls <\/a>festival, the Be\u2019lakor update will infuse a new Be\u2019lakor theme into the game\u2019s randomly generated levels, as well as adding a whole new area \u2013 The Shadow Temple, where players will apparently \u201ctake on the full force\u201d of the demon prince. It also adds two new curses that\u2019ll see players chased by floating purple skulls and harried by demonic totems that spawn enemies until destroyed.<\/p>\n<p>Fraser <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/uk\/vermintide-2-chaos-wastes-feels-like-a-winds-of-magic-do-over\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">enjoyed vanilla Chaos Wastes<\/a> when he tried it prior to the expansion\u2019s launch, saying \u201cfor a free update it already adds so much\u201d.
