Cuphead became an instant smash hit when it was released in 2017 on Xbox and PC, but its run-and-gun gameplay and cartoon aesthetic soon made its way to Switch, and it sounds like even Nintendo was a fan!
Given Cuphead’s popularity, it’s maybe not too surprising that the eponymous character made its way into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a Mii costume — along with the song ‘Floral Fury’. Especially after Undertale‘s Sans made the jump. But Studio MDHR Director Maja Moldenhauer has revealed in an interview with Fanbyte’s Imran Khan that she was shocked when Nintendo approached the studio.
